Gwen, I am behind on reading posts, and I just finished catching up on you and Ivey. The Step post brought tears to my eyes. And, I will definitely keep all that you said in my mind and heart. I pray God gives me opportunities to give like that to others, and I pray that I am not so self-focused that I do not recognize these opportunities when they present themselves.

Your little girl is beautiful, and peppermint icecream - what a treat!! It is one of my faves, too! Jesus bless your baby girl!

I can't begin to tell you how much you and precious Ivey are ministering to me and probably to millions. Your words, your beauty just inspire my life. God has definitely given you a special journey, I'm sure one you wouldn't have choosen but nonetheless, you are carrying with great honor. You are seeing the world through the eyes of little Ivey and that is something not many of us would have ever taken the time to do. You are privileged. You are honored. And you have so much to teach us.All through a little girl. Without her, we would have never had this opportunity.
Those days when you are tired Gwen, let those around you carry you, hold you and embrace you so that we too can experience some of that love first hand.
I so admire you and your family.
Thank you for honoring our Heavenly Father with this journey.
We have much to learn.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I would have chosen peppermint ice cream first every day and twice on Sunday. What a treat.

A simple sentence. No one said it to me in the beginning, but boy did that tube cause a lot of chaos. The NG tube graduated to the G-tube which morphed to a GJ- tube…. A brief history of Ivey's feeding tubes: *The NG tube was in place the first time I ever saw my daughter in the NICU.  My only memory of her without a feeding tube is them placing her in my arms immediately following her birth. *The G-tube, well, that is a story within itself.  That decision did not come lightly.  Another hole in her.  Another decision on our plate, but not really on our plate, it was apparent it was a medical necessity for her survival.  Literally to give her a chance to live.  A permanent decision.  A 5am panic attack in the Scottish Rite elevator that happened to coincide with Dr. Meyers arriving at the hospital at the same time as me.... Thank you all so much for taking time to share this milestone with our family. It is so great that you all are a part of our lives just as Ivey is a part of yours. And yes, I will give our reason for going with green. As soon as I get all of the pictures downloaded I will post more. There are only 300 or so to choose from! If you haven't left Ivey a comment, please do. Someday when she is older she will marvel at the love and prayer that surrounds her - in all the moments of her life. gwen
