Nap time.
Whereas the bi-laws of bringing a baby home are drilled into our heads through books like 'What to Expect When Expecting', we don't quite comply to those rules around here. Rules like 'keep all toys, blankets and pillows out of the infant/toddlers bed just do not apply.
As you can see, there is a tube lying next to her that is connected to her suction machine. It is hard to see, but a tube is hooked into her tummy for feeding. She sleeps on a pillow so that she is on an incline. There are two reasons for that: 1. She still has reflux. 2. She has a trach. The teddy bear you see also has a distinct purpose. He holds her a syringe that is connected to her G-tube for venting her tummy. And the topper of all toppers, Ivey has small hard thingys in her eyes that are small enough to swallow and lodge in her throat.
What do books know anyways?
P.S. The blanket stayed there temporarily. She loves for her face to be covered when she sleeps, so she wraps herself up. I go in a unravel her.

We don't have tubes and wires but we DO go in every night and uncover his head. Bugaboo has this thing about wrapping himself up in a blanket and wearing many, many layers of clothing.
I think it is cute when they do that! And, for the record, i think NO ONE should read those expecting books.

Yeah you are right...what do those books know anyway? And I use them all the time. *sigh* They don't really know do they?

Ezzy crib is loaded with tons of stuffed animals and blankets...like you said, what does a book know anyways! :)
He loves his bed and is very content and if he ever gets a blanket on his head (on his own) we will be doing a HUGE happy dance! :)

Babies are absolutely magical beings! I love Ivey's chubby little legs poking out.
One of the first times I realized I had a mother's instinct is when I decided WTEWYE rules were beyond ridiculous for nursing my baby! She wasn't having any of that eat-on-a-schedule stuff, so I relaxed, so did she, AND she quit having convulsions.
The "experts" aren't the ones at home with our little ones when we are just trying to get some sleep. I realized that when my little Corinn needed to sleep on her belly. Nothing else would do.

Well, at least she's not alone in this--Addie doesn't have any medical paraphernalia, but she does have a collection of blankets, bunnies, and pillows in her bed. And every night I go in and find her with her head covered by her blanket, smashed up against her little pillow, breathing just fine.

My babies have all been tummy sleepers (reflux as well), which I know goes against those rules in those books. We do what works for us!
